Draft for legal review. This text is not yet in force and may change before playing for PUP opens.
Play responsibly
The limits and breaks you can set, the limits we set for you, and where to get help.
Who can play for PUP
You must be 18 or older, or 21 where the law says so, and confirm it before your first match for PUP. Matches for PUP aren't offered in some places; if yours is one, or we can't tell where you are, we say so and you can still play for free.
Free play needs no wallet and no PUP, and is always open.
Limits you set yourself
- A daily stake limit: the most PUP you can put into matches in a day.
- A daily loss limit: the most PUP you can lose in a day.
- Lowering a limit takes effect at once. Raising one, or removing it, takes effect 24 hours later.
To set them: sign in, open your profile (/me), enter an amount under Limits, and tap Save limits. Leave a box empty for no limit. We check them before every match for PUP and refuse a match that would go over.
Taking a break
You can exclude yourself from matches for PUP for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or permanently: sign in, open your profile (/me), pick a length under Take a break, and confirm. It starts at once. It can't be shortened or lifted early; you can only make it longer. During a break we refuse every match for PUP from your wallet. A permanent exclusion can't be undone from the site. Matches already in play aren't affected, and free play stays open.
Limits we set
- New wallets (fewer than 10 matches for PUP here, or a first one less than 7 days ago) can only play the two lowest stake tiers.
- Every stake is capped at a set amount in U.S. dollars at that day's PUP price.
- One live match at a time, at most 3 async matches, and one unsent table at a time.
What playing for PUP means
You play against another person, never against us or a bot. The winner gets both stakes; you can lose your whole stake. PUP's price moves, so the value of a stake can change while a match is in play. A match paid out on Solana can't be reversed.
PUP Arena takes no fee, offers no bonuses, and never lends you PUP.
If it stops being fun
Stop playing for PUP, and talk to someone. In the U.S. you can call or text 1-800-GAMBLER, the National Problem Gambling Helpline, at any hour. Anywhere, Gambling Therapy (gamblingtherapy.org) offers free support online.
Open questions for counsel
- Whether these matches count as gambling in each place we allow, and the wording that follows from that.
- The age rules by region, and whether self-declared age is enough.
- Which help lines to list for each region we allow, and their current numbers.
- Whether a permanent self-exclusion needs a way to ask for review, and how.
